Not because I am psychic. Because I follow a system and I pay attention to the setup.

The political pressure was obvious. Gas over $5 in California. Polls dropping. His own party turning on him. The military saying there is nothing left to target. And Trump’s pattern — push hard, let the market panic, then find the off-ramp — has played out the same way every single time. Tariffs last April. Same playbook.

The trade was there. I took it.

However, it wasn’t as easy as I thought… I did take some losses on Monday which set me back and dropped my win rate but I made it all back and more yesterday.

Mr. Market never makes it easy for anyone… even though I was very confident in the bounce, I still took some losses

But here is the part most people will not want to hear.

I am not celebrating. I am bracing for a potential larger correction and or potential end of the bull run.

The Game Being Played

Let me tell you what happened this week.

On Sunday, Iran’s Parliament Speaker went on X. He told investors — in English — that Trump’s pre-market posts are a “reverse indicator.” His advice: if they pump it, short it. If they dump it, go long.

Monday morning. 7:26 AM. Two hours before the open. Trump posted on Truth Social that “great progress has been made” on a deal with Iran. Stocks jumped. Within an hour, Rubio went on ABC and said the opposite. Iran said there are no talks at all.

Then yesterday. The Wall Street Journal said Trump told aides he would end the war — even without opening the Strait. The Dow gained 1,000 points. Nasdaq ripped 3.34%.

And the Iranian Speaker’s advice? It worked. Iran is now making better market calls than CNBC.

This is not normal. This is a casino. One man controls the wheel.

Last week, the S&P moved $3 trillion in 56 minutes after Trump’s March 23 post. There were huge volume spikes in futures minutes before that post hit. Not hours. Minutes.

Draw your own conclusions.

Follow The Money

There is a deeper game here. If you are only watching the news, you are missing it.

Defense contractors met with Trump at the White House weeks before the first bombs fell. Lockheed. Raytheon. Boeing. BAE. Northrop. L3Harris. Honeywell. All of them. Trump said they agreed to make four times more weapons. He called them “Exquisite Class.”

The Lockheed chart started running three months before that meeting. Three months. Someone knew.

Congress approved $900 billion in defense spending for 2026. The defense ETF is up 56% in a year. War is good for business. It always has been.

Then look at Venezuela. Only US-approved firms can buy the oil now. Payments go to an account in Qatar that Trump controls. Revenue to Venezuela’s government? Only if Trump says so.

And Iran? Ask yourself why no one is talking about the petrodollar. Oil is priced in dollars. Every barrel on the planet. That is what gives the US its power. That is what makes the dollar the reserve currency.

Iran was selling oil in yuan. Working with China and Russia to cut the dollar out. That is a direct threat to American power.

That is very like what this is all about.

The Cycle Does Not Care About Headlines

Most people think the war caused this mess. They are wrong.

The mess was already coming. The war just lit the match. The fuel had been there for years.

Phil Anderson has been writing about this for decades. The economy runs on a cycle. About every 18 years, land prices peak. Money gets too loose. People borrow too much. Yields rise. And the whole thing falls over.

It happened in 1973. It happened in 1990. It happened in 2008.

The last low was around 2010-2012. Add 14 years of growth and you land right here. Right now. The peak.

Every time this happens, people blame the event they can see. In 1973 they blamed the oil embargo. But land had already peaked. Credit was already stretched. The embargo was the match. Not the fuel.

Same thing today. Iran is the match. But too much money chasing land, rising yields, private credit issues, wild speculation on borrowed cash — all of that was already here.

Even if the war cools — and I think it will — the economy is heading for trouble. And what comes next is always the same: tight money, job losses, margin calls, falling prices.

The time frame for this? I’ll tell you in a second.

What I Am Doing

I took profits on the spike.

The bounce I expected has arrived. It may have more room into April — especially if Trump keeps feeding headlines. But every day without a real deal, the April 6 deadline gets closer. If it passes with no progress, oil retests its highs and the rally fades.

Here is how I see the next few weeks playing out. There are three paths. Only one of them is bullish.

Scenario A: S&P reclaims 7,000+ before late April

This means the March 30 low was just a normal dip in a bull trend. The war. Three weeks of selling. The market took the punch and kept going. That tells you the bull market is alive.

What to do: Stay long. The real top comes later — probably fall. September or October. That is when you got to cash and think about going short.

The risk: You are riding a late-cycle move. Keep tight stops. Do not get greedy.

Scenario B: S&P makes a lower high below 7,000 in late April

This is the dangerous one. It means the January 28 high was THE high. Maybe for the year. Maybe for the cycle. The rally from March 30 was just a dead cat bounce. The market could not take back what it lost.

The chart would show: January 28 high, then a lower high in April. If the market then breaks below the March 30 low, the trend has changed.

The bearish forecast curve — the one based on 1966, sixty years ago — would be the one to follow. Trade is coming.”

I told you the political pressure, the oil crisis, and the cycle timing were all converging on this week. I told you Trump’s pattern is to push hard, find the off-ramp, and declare victory. I told you I was buying Nasdaq.

The window is now open.

And I am going to say something today that will sound insane to most people reading this.

I think stocks are about to bounce. Hard. Into April.

Let me explain.

The Scoreboard

First, the data. Because I do not trade on feelings. I trade on numbers.

Polymarket is the world’s largest prediction market. Real people putting real money on real outcomes. Not opinions. Not tweets. Not some talking head on TV guessing for ratings. Over $94 million has been wagered on Iran-related markets alone.

When that much money is at stake, people do their homework. Because they are telling you two things at once — and most people are only hearing one of them.

What Everyone Is Hearing

Turn on the news right now. What do you see?

Oil above $110. Brent crude surging. WTI closing Friday at $98.32 after CBS reported the Pentagon has detailed plans for ground troops in Iran. Axios says the US is considering seizing Kharg Island — Iran’s key oil-export terminal. Three warships and thousands of Marines deploying.

The IEA just called this the largest supply disruption in the history of the global oil market. Global oil supply is projected to plunge by 8 million barrels per day in March. The Strait of Hormuz is down to a trickle.

Goldman Sachs says oil could stay triple digits for years.

The mood is panic. Pure, undiluted panic.

And that is exactly when you need to stop and think.

What This Is Really About

Week three of this war is done. And I keep asking myself the same question.

What is this actually about?

The media will tell you it is about weapons. Facilities. Regime change. National security. Pick your headline.

But nobody is talking about the one thing that actually matters.

The petrodollar.

Oil is priced in US dollars. That is not a suggestion. It is the foundation of American financial power. Every barrel of crude that moves on this planet moves in dollars. That means every country on earth needs dollars to keep the lights on. That is what gives the US its leverage. That is what makes the dollar the reserve currency.

And Iran has been trying to change that. Selling oil in yuan. Cutting deals outside the dollar system. Working with China and Russia to build an alternative.

You think Washington went to war over missile sites?

Ask yourself a harder question. Why Iran? Why now? Greenland is on the table. Cuba apparently is next. Venezuela already happened. The US is drawing a circle around the entire Western Hemisphere — from the Arctic to the Caribbean and everything in between.

But none of that works if the dollar loses its grip on oil.

There is a reason every previous administration used diplomacy in the Middle East. Not because they were weak. Because history has shown it is incredibly expensive — in both human and dollar terms — and nearly impossible to win on the ground. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan proved that.

So either this administration has a bigger vision than anyone is seeing. Or they have stirred the wasp nest without a plan for what comes out of it.

Maybe it is a Kissinger play. Behind-the-scenes negotiations while the bombs fall. Force a new arrangement while you have maximum leverage. That is how the 1973 oil crisis ended — not on the battlefield, but in a backroom.

Or maybe they declare victory, pack up, and leave. And the real question becomes: is the damage already done?

The Fed held interest rates on Wednesday. They cited oil prices and general uncertainty. If in doubt, do nothing. The market did not like it.

I suspect the inevitable rate hike will be received the same way. But this is how tops form. Slowly. They kick the can down the road until they run out of pavement.

You are watching it happen in real time.

The Contrarian Call

Here is what I think happens.

Go back to those Polymarket numbers. There is a 46% chance Trump announces the end of military operations by April 30. Almost a coin flip.

Think about why. His polls dropped six points since the bombs started. Gas is over $5 in California — and gas prices are what put him back in the White House. The military says there is practically nothing left to target. And Trump’s pattern is always the same: push hard, let the market panic, then find the off-ramp and declare victory. Tariffs last April. Same playbook.

The pressure is building from every direction. That is not a setup for more war. That is a setup for an announcement.

Here is what I think happens.

Sometime between now and mid-April, Trump makes an announcement. Maybe a ceasefire. Maybe a “pause.” Maybe he just walks out, shakes hands, and declares victory. The exact form does not matter. What matters is the signal.

Oil drops $20-30 in a day. Maybe more. The Strait starts reopening. Ships start moving.

And stocks rip.

I am talking a violent move. The kind that makes everyone who sold the bottom feel sick. Nasdaq up 5-10% in a week. Defense stocks pull back. Oil crashes. The VIX collapses.

CNBC will call it the bottom. Twitter will celebrate. Your neighbor will tell you he bought the dip.

But here is what leaving does not fix. The Strait of Hormuz damage takes years to repair. Gulf production does not snap back with a press conference. The commodity supercycle was already in motion before the first bomb dropped. And the Fed just told you they are paralyzed.

The bounce is real. I am trading it.

But it is the eye of the storm. Not the end of it.

Most people cannot hold two ideas at the same time. They pick a side and marry it. They are either all-in bulls or permanent bears. And the market destroys both.

Do not be most people.

See you in the next issue.

*The elegance is in the execution.*

— Brian

Thanks for reading The Trade Review! Gas is up 23% in two weeks. The S&P just posted its third losing week in a row. And the Strait of Hormuz…the little chokepoint that moves a fifth of the world’s oil… is basically shut down.

I’ve been staring at this all weekend. And I keep coming back to the same thought.

This can’t last.

Look, I don’t know exactly when it ends. Nobody does. But I think we’re close. And I think there’s a real shot to make money on the turn. Let me walk you through how I’m seeing this.

A month ago — just one month — Trump was up at the State of the Union bragging about $2.30 gas. He loved that number. It was his whole pitch going into the midterms. Cheap gas, strong economy, vote Republican.

Today? Gas is $3.63. Over $5 in parts of California. That talking point is dead.

And the political heat is getting real. Rand Paul went on Fox this week and basically said if prices stay here, Republicans get wiped out in November. His exact words were “a disastrous election.” Tucker’s hammering him. Megyn Kelly too. Even his own base is fighting about it. I saw one poll where his numbers dropped six points since the bombs started.

You know what put Trump back in the White House? Gas prices. He said it himself, over and over. Expensive fuel killed Biden. He’s not going to let the same thing happen to his party. No chance.

That’s the political side. The economic side is worse.

Oil touched $120 this week before pulling back to around $103. Goldman just raised their recession odds to 25%. The Economist — and this one got my attention — said if Hormuz stays closed through the end of the month, we could see $150 oil. Maybe $200. At that point you’re talking about a global crash. Europe goes into recession. Japan too. The UK. Even we take a serious hit.

The IEA called it the worst oil crisis in history. I had to read that twice. Worse than the ’70s. Over 150 ships are just sitting outside the strait right now, anchored, waiting. Nothing’s getting through. Fertilizer is up 43% and we’re heading into planting season, so food prices are probably next.

The White House knows they’re in trouble. Trump’s energy secretary said relief could come “in a few more weeks.” The press office told CNBC that prices will drop fast once the fighting stops. They’re not even pretending this is sustainable anymore. They’re already talking about the end.

And then Trump went on Axios and said the thing that really caught my ear. He said there’s “practically nothing left to target.” He said the war is ahead of schedule. He said (and I’m paraphrasing here) that he can stop it whenever he feels like it.

That’s not a guy digging in. That’s a guy building the case to declare victory and move on.

The Saudis are on the phone. They need that strait open. The IEA just dumped 400 million barrels from emergency reserves, which buys some time, but everybody knows it’s a stopgap. The only real fix is the shooting stops and ships start moving again.

Israel says three more weeks of targets. Iran’s missile supply is thinning out. Their navy is gone. Their radar is gone. By Trump’s own account, the military job is pretty much done.

So what’s left? The announcement. The tweet. The photo op where everybody shakes hands and calls it a win.

I keep thinking about last April. Remember Liberation Day? Trump dropped massive tariffs. Market fell 10% in a week. Everybody panicked. Then seven days later he paused the whole thing and stocks launched right back up. Cramer made this point on CNBC the other day and he’s right — there’s a pattern here. Trump pushes hard, the market sells off, and then he finds the off-ramp. Every time.

I think that’s exactly where we are right now.

And here’s what I don’t think enough people are thinking about. The market doesn’t need the war to be over. It just needs a reason to believe it’s ending. A ceasefire talk. An agreement on the strait. Trump saying objectives were met. Literally any of that — and oil drops $30 in a day, stocks pop 2 to 3%, and the whole mood shifts.

Every single day that goes by, the pressure builds. More pain at the pump. More nervous Republicans. More calls from the Saudis. More front-page stories about recession risk. The walls are closing in and Trump is a guy who reads the room.

So here’s what I’m doing. If we keep sliding into Wednesday and honestly even if we’re still falling Friday… I’m going buying buy Nasdaq. My expectation is that by next Monday March 23, 2026, we get some kind of announcement. Trump claims victory. Ships start moving. Oil craters. And the market rips.

The COVID crash low was March 23, 2020. That’s exactly 72 months ago. Six years to the week. If you follow market cycles at all, you know that 72 months is a reliable turn windows there is. Major bottoms tend to cluster around these intervals. It’s not magic. It’s how fear and greed move through the system in waves.

And March 21 is the spring equinox. If you’ve studied seasonal turns in markets, you know the equinox has a long history as a reversal window. Major tops and bottoms cluster around these dates going back decades. It’s one of those things Wall Street doesn’t talk about, but traders who’ve been around long enough know it’s real.

So you’ve got the political pressure, the economic pressure, the military mission winding down, the 72-month cycle, and the equinox all landing in the same week. That’s a lot of things pointing the same direction at the same time.

That’s what I’m watching.

Could I be wrong? Of course. Iran’s new leader says he’ll fight forever. The IRGC swears not a drop of oil gets through Hormuz. Things could absolutely get uglier before they get better. But I don’t think that’s the case.

Elegance is in the execution.

—Brian

Thanks for reading The Trade Review! But oil is not what keeps people alive over there.

Water does. And they don’t have any.

No rivers. No lakes. Almost no rain. The only way people in Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia get clean water is from plants on the coast. These plants pull salt out of the sea and pump it to the cities.

In Kuwait, 90% of the water comes from those plants. In Oman, 86%. In Saudi, about 70%.

Take a look at where they ara…

<picture></picture>

<g>

</g><polyline points="15 3 21 3 21 9"></polyline><polyline points="9 21 3 21 3 15"></polyline><line x1="21" x2="14" y1="3" y2="10"></line><line x1="3" x2="10" y1="21" y2="14"></line>

Riyadh has 8 million people. It sits 300 miles from the coast. Almost all of its water comes from one plant. It flows through one pipe across the desert.

A U.S. cable from 2008 said if that pipe breaks, the city runs dry in a week. That was 18 years ago. More people live there now.

Now look at what’s happening.

Iran has hit ports. Airports. Oil fields. All across the Gulf. Strikes hit Dubai’s Jebel Ali port. That port is 12 miles from the biggest water plant in the region. Twelve miles. That’s not a miss. That’s a message.

There’s damage at the Fujairah water plant in the UAE. Damage in Kuwait. A drone hit a water plant in Bahrain.

Every week, the bombs land closer to the water.

Here’s the part that matters. Iran does not need these plants. Its water comes from wells and dams inland. But the Gulf states? All their water sits on the coast. In range. Most of these plants share a wall with the power station. Hit one and you lose both. No water. No power. In a place where it hits 120 degrees in summer.

You can store oil. You can’t store water. If a big plant goes down, that country has days of water left. Not weeks. Days.

If a few go down at once? Millions lose water and air conditioning at the same time. Summer is close. Workers try to leave. Flights are grounded.

A water crisis in the Gulf would not just be a human disaster. It would be a market event. It would freeze building projects. Shut down ports. Disrupt money flows from sovereign wealth funds. Push energy prices into a second leg up. The effects hit shipping, commodities, and supply chains all at once.

Oil gets the headlines. But water is the thing that could break the Gulf. And right now, 100 million people are drinking from targets.

WHAT I’M WATCHING

What’s on my radar. Do your own homework.

Oil

WTI broke $90 on Friday. Up 35% in one week. Biggest weekly move ever.

The math is simple. The Strait is shut. U.S. output is flat. Over 75% of the world’s spare oil sits in four countries next to the war. Spare capacity is about 2% of what the world burns each day. That’s nothing.

If this drags on, $100 oil is the base case. Qatar’s energy minister said $150 is possible. Trump said no deal without full surrender. That tells me this isn’t over soon.

Right now is NOT the time to short Oil…

Tankers: I Bought on Friday

I need to be straight with you. I bought three tanker stocks on Friday. DHT, FRO, and HAFN. And I want to tell you why.

The Strait is shut. Ships are going around Africa now. That adds weeks to every trip. More fuel. More crew costs. Fewer ships free at any time. And the tanker market was already tight before any of this started.

The rates I’m seeing in the real market right now are out of this world. Based on live fixtures, I think FRO could pay $10 in dividends for 2026. HAFN could pay $2.50. DHT could pay $5. That would be a 27% yield on DHT. 29% on FRO. 33% on HAFN.

And here’s the crazy part. All three stocks are down from their highs. They peaked in the pre-market on Monday, March 2, right after the Iran attack but before New York opened. Since then, FRO is down 16%. DHT is down 16%. HAFN is down 12%. They kept falling on Friday.

It doesn’t make sense. The rates are screaming higher and the stocks are going the other way.

So I bought all three on Friday. Here are my prices: FRO at $34.56. DHT at $18.07. HAFN at $7.29.

Let me break these down. DHT owns the biggest oil tankers in the world — the supertankers that carry 2 million barrels of crude across the ocean. That's all they do. FRO does the same thing but also runs a fleet of mid-size tankers. HAFN is different… they move the finished stuff. Gasoline. Diesel. Jet fuel. The products you actually use.

All three make their money the same way. When it costs more to ship, they keep the difference. And right now, shipping costs are the highest I've ever seen

I want to be honest. This will be a rough ride. These stocks will likely be extremely volatile. If you can’t stomach the swings, sit this one out.

Watching: All three. I own them now. Maximum risk. I’ll be tracking these closely and will update you.

Bottom Line

Wars end. This one will too. Maybe in weeks. Maybe longer. No one knows.

In times like these is when opportunities appear.

Stay sharp. Stay ready. And do your own homework.

The elegance is in the execution.

— Brian

Thanks for reading The Trade Review! Two screens full of charts. A cup of cold coffee next to me. I had spent three weeks on a new trade setup. I read about it. I drew lines on charts. I watched it play out in real time, bar by bar, day by day. I thought it had an edge.

It did not.

I lost money. Not a lot. But enough to sting. And the worst part was not the loss. It was the time. Three weeks of my life. Gone. Burned on a hunch I could have checked in an hour.

That was the old way. That was how most of us traded. We read a book. We heard a tip. We saw a guru on a screen talk about his secret setup. And then we bet real cash on it — with no proof that it worked.

Those days are over.

What Changed

It is called vibe coding. The name sounds odd. But what it does is real. You take a trade idea — any idea — and you tell an AI like Claude or Gemini what you want. In plain words. No code. No tech skills. Just say it.

“I want to buy when price breaks above the high of the 10 AM bar with a 4-point buffer. Set a 60-point stop. Take profit at 120 points. Exit by 3:55 PM. One trade per day, per side, max.”

That’s it! The AI writes the code for you. Full, clean code that plugs right into your trade platform. In my case, that is TradeStation. The AI wrote EasyLanguage code for me — a task that used to take a paid coder days to do.

I got it in less than a minute.

Then I ran the test. I saw every trade the system would have taken over the past year. I saw the wins, the losses, the draw-downs, the profit curve. Not some vague idea of whether a setup “feels” right. Hard data. Real math. In black and white.

And it told me the truth. Fast. No fluff. No hope. Just facts.

Why This Is a Game Changer

Most traders fail. You have heard the stats - 90% of traders lose all their money within 90 days. It’s rough. And the main cause is not that traders are stupid. It is a lack of proof. They trade setups they have not tested. They trust gut feels. They watch some guy on a stream make a call and think, “That is my edge.”

It is not.

An edge is a thing you can prove. It shows up in the data. And now, for the first time, any trader can test any idea in less than an hour. No code skills. No paid developers. No months of screen time. Just tell the AI what you want, run the test, and see the truth.

You can test five ideas in a day. Ten. You can tweak inputs, change time frames, add filters. Each time, the AI writes new code. Each time, you get new results. You can throw out what does not work and keep what does.

This is not a small shift. This is the most profound change in retail trading since the rise of cheap online brokers.

The Traps You Must Know About

Now, let me be real with you. Vibe coding is not a magic wand. The tool is great. But the tool can also fool you if you do not know what to watch for.

Here are two traps I found so you don’t have to.

Trap One: Look Inside Bar. When you test a strategy in TradeStation, there is a setting called “Look Inside Bar.” Most traders leave it off. That is a mistake. With it off, the platform only sees the open, high, low, and close of each bar. It has to guess what happened in between. Did your stop get hit first? Or your profit target? It does not know. It guesses. And that guess can make a losing system look like a winner — or a winner look like a loser. Turn it on. Always. With it on, the platform peeks at real price data within each bar. It sees the true order of events. Your results get more honest. If your edge falls apart when you turn on Look Inside Bar, you never had an edge at all.

Trap Two: Not Adding Costs. Every trade costs money. Commissions. Slippage. Fees. If you do not add those costs to your test, your results are a lie. A strategy that looks great on paper can bleed you dry in real life once you add $5 or $10 per round trip. In TradeStation, you can set this in the strategy settings. Do it. Always. Before you trust a single number in your report, make sure the costs are real.

These two traps alone have fooled more traders than I can count. Vibe coding gives you speed. But speed without care is just a faster way to lose.

How to Read Your Results: The Profit Factor

Once you run a back test, the most telling number is the profit factor. It is simple. Take all your gross wins. Divide by all your gross losses. That’s it.

If you won $10,000 and lost $5,000, your profit factor is 2.0. For every dollar you lost, you made two back.

Here is a quick guide to what the numbers mean:

Below 1.0 — You lose money. Full stop. The system has no edge. Walk away from it.

1.0 to 1.2 — Break even. After costs, you are flat or in the red. Not worth your time or your stress.

1.2 to 1.5 — A small edge. It can work. But the margin is thin. One bad month and you are in a hole. Most pro fund systems live here — but they trade huge size and have deep pockets to ride out the rough parts. For a solo trader, this is a tight rope.

1.5 to 2.0 — Solid. This is where good retail systems live. You can take hits and still come out ahead. There is room to breathe. If your system shows this range with costs and Look Inside Bar on, you have found something real.

Above 2.0 — Excellent. This is the gold zone. Your wins far outstrip your losses. A system with a profit factor above 2.0, tested over a long span with real costs, is rare and strong. If you find one, treat it well.

Above 3.0 — Be careful. It might be real. But more often, a profit factor this high means you have not tested on enough data, or the system is over-fit to past moves. Check it twice. Test it on data the system has not seen. If it still holds, you may have struck gold.

The profit factor is not the only number that matters. Win rate, max draw-down, and Sharpe ratio all play a role. But profit factor is the first thing I look at. It tells me fast whether a system is worth more of my time.

The New Way

I think about all the years I spent guessing. All the nights I sat in front of charts and hoped my read was right. All the trades I took on faith. And I think about how much of that pain I could have skipped.

Vibe coding does not make you a great trader. It does not hand you an edge on a plate. What it does is strip away the fog. It takes the thing you think might work and holds it up to the light. In seconds. For free.

You no longer have to guess. You no longer have to hope. You no longer have to spend weeks or months on a setup, only to find out the hard way that it was never going to work.

Tell the AI what you want. Run the test. Read the numbers. Trust the data.

The truth is on the screen. All you have to do is look.

—Brian

Thanks for reading The Trade Review! Because what I’m about to show you is the reason 80% of traders lose. Not because they can’t read a chart. Not because they picked the wrong setup. But because their brain — the same brain that keeps them alive, feeds their kids, and helps them succeed at work — is the very thing that drains their account to zero.

And until you see it, you can’t fix it.

The Supermarket Trap

Last week you walked into a store. You saw chicken on sale — half off. You grabbed three packs. You felt good. Smart. Like you won something.

That feeling? That rush of “I got a deal”? It keeps you alive in the real world. It feeds your family for less. It helps you build wealth over time.

Now take that same brain into the market.

You see a stock that was at $200 last month. Today it’s at $100. Your brain screams: “SALE! This is cheap! Buy it!”

So you buy. And it drops to $80. So you buy more. Because now it’s even cheaper, right? Like chicken at 70% off. A steal.

Then it drops to $50. Then $30. Then you’re staring at a screen with shaking hands, wondering how you lost so much on something that felt so right.

Here’s the problem. Your brain can’t tell the difference between a supermarket and a stock chart. In the store, cheap means value. In the market, cheap often means broken. Falling price doesn’t mean “on sale.” It means other people — thousands of them, maybe millions — are running for the exit.

And you’re walking in, alone, with a shopping cart.

This is not a small thing. This is the root of almost every bad trade you’ve ever taken. Your brain used a rule that works at the grocery store. It applied it to a place where that rule will destroy you.

And it felt good the whole time.

The Real Reason You Cut Winners and Hold Losers

Here’s a question. You’re in a trade. It’s up 100 points. Your heart beats a little faster. A voice in your head says: “Take it. Lock it in. Don’t let it get away.”

Now here’s another one. You’re in a trade. It’s down 100 points. That same voice says: “Hold on. It’ll come back. Just wait.”

Why does your brain tell you to grab profit fast but let losses run slow?

Because your brain hates one thing more than anything else on earth: losing what it already has.

Scientists call it loss aversion. The pain of losing $100 hits you about twice as hard as the joy of gaining $100. Your brain doesn’t weigh them the same. Not even close.

So when you’re up on a trade, you feel like you’re holding something fragile. Like a glass ball. One wrong move and it shatters. Your brain says: “Put it down. Now. Before you drop it.”

But when you’re down, your brain does something twisted. It tells you that the loss isn’t real yet. As long as you don’t close the trade, you haven’t really lost. It’s just a number on a screen. There’s still hope. Maybe it comes back. Maybe tomorrow will be different.

So you hold. And you hope. And you wait.

This is not a flaw in your trading plan. This is a flaw in your hardware. Every human brain does this. Yours. Mine. The guy on YouTube with the Lamborghini. Every single one.

The 1% who win? They didn’t remove this instinct. They learned to act against it. Every single day. Over and over. That is the job.

The Uncomfortable Truth

I want you to sit with something that will make you deeply uncomfortable.

You already know enough to be profitable.

Right now. Today. With what you already know about the market, about charts, about entries and exits — you have enough. The problem has never been knowledge. The problem is that in the heat of the moment, you abandon everything you know and let your emotions drive.

You move your stop because it “feels” too tight. You skip a setup because the last three didn’t work. You add to a loser because admitting you’re wrong feels worse than losing more money. You close a winner early because you can’t stand the thought of giving back what you’ve made.

None of those are chart problems. None of those are strategy problems. Every single one is a you problem.

And here’s the part nobody talks about: the solution doesn’t come from more study. It doesn’t come from a better indicator, a new course, or the “secret” that some guru is selling from the back of a private jet.

It comes from changing how you relate to pain.

So what does that actually look like?

The One Percent

What do the winning traders do that everyone else doesn’t?

They lose better.

Not less often. Better. They lose fast. They lose clean. They lose without the story. No “the market is wrong.” No “it’ll come back.” No revenge trade at 3 PM because they’re angry about what happened at 10 AM.

They treat a loss like a red light. You stop. You wait. You go. No drama. No identity crisis. No existential spiral about whether you’re good enough.

A loss is information. That’s it. Not a judgment. Not a reflection of your worth. Just data. The trade didn’t work. Next.

That sounds simple. It is the hardest thing you will ever do as a trader. Because every fiber of your being will resist it. Your ego will resist it. Your need to be right will resist it. The story you tell yourself about who you are — smart, capable, different from the 80% — will resist it.

The traders who break through are the ones who stop fighting the market and start fighting themselves. Who stop asking “what should I trade?” and start asking “why do I keep doing the thing I know I shouldn’t?”

That question — the one pointed inward, not at the screen — is worth more than every indicator ever built.

Your edge isn’t on the chart. It never was. Your edge is in the gap between what you know and what you do.

— Brian

Thanks for reading The Trade Review! Everyone in the house was asleep. But I was up, doing what I always do — hunched over my desk, scanning charts, looking for the one setup that would make the whole week worth it.

Then my buddy John called. He never calls that late. So I picked up.

“You seeing this?” he said. His voice was tight. Almost a whisper.

I looked at silver…

In one move—one brutal, violent, history-making move—silver had fallen from $124 to $64. That is not a typo. It fell almost 50% in a matter of days. The kind of crash you read about in old books about panics and bank runs. The kind of thing that is not supposed to happen.

And yet, there it was. Right on my screen.

John was quiet on the other end. Then he said, “What do we do now?”

That is a good question. And if you trade silver—or you are thinking about it—then what I am about to share might be the most important thing you read all year.

What Is a 6-Sigma Event (And Why Should You Care)?

Let me keep this simple.

In statistics, a “sigma” measures how far something moves from what is normal. One sigma? That happens all the time. Two sigma? Less common but not shocking. Three sigma? Now you are getting into rare territory.

Five sigma? That is supposed to happen once every 14,000 years.

But six sigma? That is supposed to happen once in 500 million occurrences.

Let me say that again. Once in 500 million.

To put that in perspective: the entire US stock market has only had about 35,000 trading days in its history. A 6-sigma event is not supposed to happen even once in that entire span. Not even close.

That is what happened to silver between January 29 and February 6, 2026.

Silver peaked near $124 on January 29. Just eight days later, it hit $64. The move was so fast, so extreme, that it broke statistical models. It was the kind of event that quants and professors say should almost never happen.

But here is the thing they do not tell you in textbooks.

These events do happen. They happen more often than the math says they should. And when they do, they leave a mark. Not just on the charts. On the traders who live through them. On the markets that follow.

And most importantly—they create opportunity.

Because after an event this extreme, markets do not just drift. They reset. They find a new rhythm. And that new rhythm often follows patterns that go back decades.

Patterns built on the number 30.

Why 30 Is the Most Important Number in Trading

If you have been around markets long enough, you start to notice something strange. Certain numbers keep showing up. Not because someone decided they should. But because markets are made of people. And people—our emotions, our fears, our cycles of hope and panic—run on rhythms.

The number 30 is everywhere.

There are roughly 30 days in a calendar month. There are roughly 30 trading days in six calendar weeks. The moon takes about 29.5 days to complete its cycle. Many agricultural and commodity cycles align with multiples of 30.

But it goes deeper than that.

W.D. Gann, one of the most studied traders in history, built much of his work around this number. He observed that major market turns tend to happen in clusters of 30. Thirty days. Thirty weeks. Thirty months. Three hundred months. The multiples show up again and again at turning points that most traders would call “coincidence.”

But here is the question I always ask: How many coincidences does it take before it is no longer a coincidence?

Let me show you what I mean.

The September 11 Time Cycle: A Real-World Example

September 11, 2001. Everyone alive that day remembers where they were. It was not just a tragedy. It was a shock to the system—emotional, political, and financial. Markets shut down. When they reopened, they fell hard.

Now watch what happens when you count forward from that date using multiples of 30 months.

Ninety months after September 11, 2001, brings you to March 2009. That was the exact bottom of the Great Recession. The S&P 500 hit 666 and turned. One of the greatest buying opportunities in the last 50 years. Ninety months. That is three cycles of 30.

Two hundred forty months after September 11, 2001, brings you to September 2021. That is the month the United States pulled out of Afghanistan—closing the chapter that began on that very day in 2001. Markets were topping out. Crypto was peaking. The easy money era was ending. Two hundred forty months. That is eight cycles of 30.

Three hundred sixty months after September 11, 2001, brings you to September 11, 2031. Twelve cycles of 30. We do not know what will happen that day. But if the pattern holds, it could mark a significant low—or a major turning point.

Now, you can look at this and say, “That is just numbers.” And maybe it is. But when the numbers keep lining up at moments that change history, I pay attention. And you should too.

Silver, September 4, and the 30-Week Window

Now let us bring it back to silver.

Silver hit its low on February 6, 2026. That was the day the 6-sigma crash bottomed out.

Count forward 30 weeks from February 6. Where do you land?

September 4, 2026.

Thirty weeks. One full cycle of 30.

Based on what we know about time cycles, September 4 is a date to circle on your calendar. It does not mean silver will crash that day. It does not mean it will spike. But it means something is likely to happen—a reaction, a turn, a shift in momentum. The kind of move that traders can position for if they are paying attention.

This is how time cycles work. They do not give you a guarantee. They give you a window. A moment where the odds tilt in your favor. And in trading, tilted odds are everything.

Think about it like a surfer. You cannot create a wave. But if you know when and where the waves tend to come, you can paddle out ahead of time and be ready. That is what a time cycle does. It tells you when to be in the water.

September 4 is one of those days.

But Here Is What I Am Really Watching For…

The September 4 date matters. But it is not the only thing I am tracking.

What I really want to see is a higher low.

In simple terms: silver bottomed at $64 on February 6. If, over the coming days or weeks, silver dips again but holds above $64—it will create a higher low. And that is important.

Why? Because a higher low after a 6-sigma crash tells you the market has absorbed the shock. It tells you buyers are stepping in at higher prices. It tells you the trend is shifting from panic to accumulation.

And when that higher low forms, we start counting again.

From that new low, we count 30 days, 30 weeks, 30 months. We look for the next window. The next moment where time and price come together in a way that gives us an edge.

This is not about predicting the future. This is about understanding time cycles. Markets breathe. They expand and contract. They crash and recover. And they do it on a schedule that most people never bother to learn.

What Comes Next

Here is what I know.

Silver just experienced the kind of move that is not supposed to happen. A 6-sigma event. A once-in-500-million occurrence. The charts are scarred. Traders are shaken. Most people have no idea what to make of it.

But the time cycles are already running.

September 4 is 30 weeks from the low. That is a date worth watching. And once silver forms its next higher low—whenever that happens—a whole new set of time windows will open up.

I will be tracking all of it.

So stay tuned because great opportunities are ahead of us.

—Brian

Thanks for reading The Trade Review! It was because I was burned out.

At that time, I was trading “full time.” Sounds impressive. The reality was anything but.

I was a slave to the screen.

Up before dawn to check the European open. Glued to my monitors through the entire US session. Lunch at my desk — if I remembered to eat at all. The gym? Forgotten. Family dinners? A guilty memory.

I told myself I was trading for freedom. But somewhere along the way, I’d built myself a prison. And I was the only inmate.

My eyes burned. My back hurt. My nerves were shot. And here’s the cruel part — the more I watched, the worse I traded.

I was over-analyzing every tick. Reacting to noise like a lab rat hitting a lever. Buying when I should’ve been sitting on my hands. Selling the instant I felt a flicker of fear. Second-guessing every decision I made — and then second-guessing the second guess.

I knew something had to break. And I didn’t want it to be me.

I wanted my life back. I wanted to hit the gym again. See my friends. Sit down to a meal without one eye on a chart. I wanted to trade to live — not live to trade.

So I went on a mission. I was going to find a way to trade on my own terms — or I was going to quit altogether.

That’s when I started studying the old masters. Traders from a hundred years ago. Men like W.D. Gann. They didn’t have five-minute charts. They didn’t have CNBC screaming in the background twenty-four hours a day.

They looked at the market once a day. And they made fortunes.

That hit me like a slap in the face.

Here I was — glued to six monitors, subscribed to three news feeds, burning through my health and my sanity — and these guys were beating the market with a pencil and a daily chart.

What did they know that I didn’t?

That’s the question that changed everything. Because the answer wasn’t some complicated formula. It wasn’t a secret indicator. It was something so simple I almost didn’t believe it.

You don’t need 12 hours per day. You only need 5 minutes.

That’s when I found the mechanical trading system. A simple set of rules. And I realized that if I just looked at the chart once a day — at the close — I could make more money than I ever did staring at screens for 12 hours straight.

Not sometimes more. Consistently more.

So what is this system? Let me break it down for you — because it’s going to sound almost insultingly simple. And that’s exactly why it works.

The Mechanical System: Swing Trading

Part 1: How to Draw the Swing Chart

Most beginners get confused by the “noise” of daily candles. The Swing Chart filters out the noise and reveals the true path.

The Golden Rule: We only look at daily Highs and Lows). The “Close” does not matter.

Every single trading day will fall into one of these four categories. You must identify which one it is to know where to draw your line.

1. The Up Day (Green Light)

The Look: Today has a Higher High AND a Higher Low than yesterday.

The Logic: The market is marching upward.

The Action: Draw your line UP.

<a class="image-link image2 Managing the trade is where the money is made. I use a scaling method designed for small accounts called “Lots of 3.”

1. The Entry You enter with a multiple of 3 contracts (e.g., 3, 6, or 9).

2. The Initial Target (Bank the Cash) We do not wait for a home run to get paid.

The Rule: Take 2/3rds of your position OFF at the initial target (usually when profit equals 1/2 of your risk).

The Initial Target = Entry – Stop Loss / 2

Why? This puts cash in your pocket immediately. It pays for the trade.

3. The “Free Trade” Once you sell those first 2 contracts, you move the Stop Loss on the remaining runner to Break-Even.

Result: You cannot lose money on this trade. You are now playing with “House Money.”

Part 4: The Exit (The Trailing Stop)

Now that you have a “Runner” (the last 1/3rd of your position), you let it run as long as possible. You never guess the top.

The Routine: Every day at the close (or the next morning), look at the bar that just finished.

The Rule: Move your Stop Loss to one tick below the Low of the Previous Day (for longs).

The End: Eventually, the trend will turn. The price will hit your trailing stop. The computer takes you out automatically.

The Real Life Example: Silver

Let’s look at the actual charts from the historic Silver rally we just saw in January 2026. This isn’t a theory; this is what really happened.

For simplicity purposes, we are trading 1 Silver Futures Contract (Symbol: SI).

Contract Size: 5,000 ounces.

Leverage: Every $1.00 the price moves = $5,000 profit per contract.

The Setup: Wednesday, January 21 - On Wednesday, it closes strong at $92.64. The trend is up. The system gives a green light.

Action: You buy 1 Futures Contract at $92.64.

Stop: You place your initial stop below the recent swing low.

The Ride: Climbing the Ladder Now, you stop thinking. You turn off the TV. You just follow the Trailing Stop rule.

Jan 22 (Thursday): Silver rallies to $96.37. The Low of the day was $90.68.

Action: Move stop to $90.60 (below today’s low). Because a lot did go right.

1. The Consistency I finished the month with a 75% win rate. That is great. When you win 3 out of every 4 trades, it builds huge confidence. It means my read on the market is sharp.

2. The “Zone” Look at Week 2 on the calendar. From January 4th to January 9th, it was smooth. I made nearly $40,000 in one week without a single losing day. I wasn’t forcing it. I wasn’t stressed. I took my trades, hit my targets, and walked away. That is what trading should feel like.

3. The Comeback This is what I am most proud of. I took a hit in Week 4 (more on that in a second). Most traders would have quit. They would have been too scared to click the button the next day. I didn’t. I showed up. On January 29th, I locked in $34,000 in a single day. I clawed my way back.

The Bad: The $22,500 Mistake

Now, look at the calendar again. Look at the red box on Sunday, January 18th.

-$22,500.

That number hurts my stomach. But the dollar amount isn’t the worst part.

The worst part is the trade count. I lost $22k on only 3 trades.

Do you see what that means? It means I was stubborn. I refused to be wrong. I held onto a losing trade and “hoped” it would come back. “Hope” is not a strategy. I broke my rules that day. I let my ego take the wheel, and I let one bad decision wipe out two weeks of hard work.

I am also overtrading mainly due to the fact that I’m testing a new order flow strategy. Look at the end of the month.

Jan 21: 124 trades.

Jan 30: 100 trades.

Compare that to the start of the month where I made money with just 10 or 20 trades. Clicking the button 100 times a day is a sign of stress. It leads to burnout. This needs to get fixed in February.

The Verdict

Financial Grade: A+ ($120k is a solid month).

Discipline Grade: C (The big loss and the overtrading need to stop).

My Profit Factor is 2.33. This means for every dollar I lost, I made two dollars back. The engine is powerful, but the steering is a bit loose.

The Plan for February

I have three goals:

Cut Losers Fast. No more $22k losses. When I am wrong, I get out.

Trade Less. Quality over quantity. I want to get back to the calm focus of Week 2.

Thank you for being on this journey with me. It’s not always pretty, but it’s always real.

Let’s crushFebruary.

The elegance is in the execution.

— Brian

Thanks for reading The Trade Review! I know you are.

You see the green line going up. It is not just going up. It is vertical. It looks like a wall. It looks like a rocket ship leaving the earth. Your heart starts to beat faster. Your palms get sweaty. You feel a knot in your stomach. A voice in your head whispers to you.

“It has gone too high,” the voice says. “It has to come down. It can’t go up forever. This is crazy.”

You move your mouse to the “Sell” button. You want to short it. You want to bet against it. You want to be the hero. You want to be the genius who calls the top. You want to brag to your friends that you sold the exact top of the biggest move in history.

Stop.

Take your hand off the mouse. Step away from the screen. Take a deep breath.

If you short silver right now, you will die.

I do not mean you will physically die. But your money will die. Your account will go to zero. You will lose everything you have worked for. You are standing on train tracks. You see a massive freight train coming at you at full speed. It has no brakes. And you are trying to stop it with your bare hands.

This is not a normal market move. This is a monster. This is a historic event.

I need you to understand what is happening. I have read the reports. I have seen the data. This is not just people buying silver because they like shiny metal. This is a war. This is a squeeze. And you are caught in the middle of it.

The Monster You Are Fighting

To survive, you must know your enemy. Why is silver going up like this?

It is January 2026. The world has changed. China has changed the rules of the game. The reports tell us that Beijing has started something called “capacity nationalism.”

That is a big phrase. But it means something simple. It means China has the silver, and they are not sharing it anymore.

On January 1st, they made a new rule. Only the biggest companies can send silver out of the country. If you are a small company, you are locked out. You cannot export. Then, they cut the tax breaks for sending solar products away. They need the silver for themselves. They need it for their own solar panels. They need it for their own factories.

They are squeezing the world.

Think about that. The supply of silver is choked off. But the world still needs it. The demand is exploding. Solar panels need silver. Electronics need silver. The military needs silver.

When you have no supply and huge demand, what happens to the price? It explodes.

In just one recent week, it jumped huge. This is not normal trading. This is a market that is ripping faces off.

The “Blue Sky” Danger

When a market moves like this, it creates a dangerous situation for short sellers. I call it “blue sky.”

Look at your chart again. Look to the left. Do you see any price history there? Do you see any “resistance” levels? Do you see any place where the price stopped before?

No. You don’t. You see nothing.

There is no roof. There is no ceiling. There is no line in the sand where sellers are waiting.

This is the most dangerous part. When there is no resistance, there are no natural sellers. Everyone who owns silver right now is making money. They are happy. They are not looking to sell. They are holding on for the ride.

And the people who are short? The people who bet against it yesterday? They are in pain. They are losing money every second. They are panicking. They have to buy silver to close their losing trades. This buying pushes the price even higher.

If you short right now, you are guessing. You are gambling.

If you short at $110, who says it stops there? What if it goes to $120? What if it gaps to $150 overnight because China announces a new ban? What if the dollar crashes?

You have no protection. You have no resistance to lean against. You are naked in a storm.

Taking random shorts with no resistance above you is suicide. It is not trading. It is a death wish.

The Solution: Wait for the Backside

So, how do we short this beast? How do we make money on the crash?

We wait.

We must have patience. Patience is painful. It hurts to watch a chart go up without you. It hurts to feel like you are missing the action. You feel the “FOMO”—the Fear Of Missing Out. You want to jump in.

But you must wait. We are waiting for the “backside” of the move.

Every parabolic move has a “front side” and a “backside.”

The front side is the way up. It is the party. It is the mania. It is the momentum. We never, ever short the front side. We let the bulls have their fun. We let them run. We get out of the way.

We wait for the structure to break.

Here is the exact map. Memorize it. Do not act until you see it.

Step 1: The Break

Eventually, the buying will stop. It always does.

One day, the price will drop hard. It will be a nasty red candle on the chart. It will be a big drop on heavy volume. It will shock people.

That is the first crack in the dam. That is the first sign that the bulls are tired.

But—and this is vital—do not short yet!

Why? Because the bulls are still strong. They will see that drop and think, “Sale! Cheap silver!” They will rush in to buy the dip. If you short the first drop, you might get run over by one last rally.

Step 2: The Trap Rally (The Lower High)

After that first big drop, the price will bounce. It will rally back up.

This is the most important part. You must wait for this rally.

The news will say, “Buy the dip!” The retail traders will rush in. They think the bull market is back on. They will try to push the price back to the highs.

But this time, it is different. The momentum is broken. The rally will feel heavy. It will struggle. It will try to make a new high, but it will fail. It will run out of gas.

It will make a Lower High.

This is the key. This is the setup. The market tried to go back up, and it failed. The buyers are exhausted. The bag holders are scared.

Step 3: The Short (The Leg Down)

Now, we strike.

We wait for that weak rally to roll over. When the price starts to drop again after that weak bounce, that is your entry.

Why is this safe? Because now you have a line in the sand.

You can put your “stop loss” order just above the top of that weak rally. Now your risk is defined. You know exactly when you are wrong. If the price goes above that high, you get out. You lose a little bit.

But if you are right? You catch the big one.

This is the “leg down.”

When the price breaks the lows of the first drop, fear kicks in. All the people who bought at the top start to panic. They are underwater. They just want to get out. They sell. The people who bought the dip panic. They sell.

This creates a chain reaction. A waterfall.

The price drops faster than it went up. That is where you make your money. You ride the slide down. You profit from their fear.

The Discipline of the Sniper

This sounds easy, but it is the hardest thing in the world to do.

It is hard to watch silver go up every day and do nothing. You will feel the urge to gamble. You will feel the urge to guess.

But you must be like a sniper. A sniper does not shoot at everything that moves. A sniper lays in the mud for three days, waiting for the perfect shot. A sniper waits until the target is clear. A sniper waits until the odds are 100% in his favor.

Right now, the odds are against you. Right now, the bulls have the ball.

It it is impossible to tell where this will stop. Maybe it stops here. Maybe it doubles from here. You do not know. I do not know. Nobody knows.

China is holding the cards. The dollar is weak. The world is scared. Gold is breaking out. Commodities are in a supercycle. The wind is at the back of silver.

If you stand in front of this wind, you will be blown away.

Do not let your ego destroy your account. Do not try to be the smartest person in the room. The market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent.

I want you to sit on your hands. I want you to watch the show. Let the price go to the moon. Let it go to Mars. Who cares? Let it go.

Watch for the crack. Watch for the panic. Watch for the failed rally.

Do not get in the way of momentum. It is a force of nature. Respect it. Fear it.

Wait for the turn. Wait for the structure to break. Wait for the backside.

If you short now, you are gambling. If you wait, you are trading.

Be a trader. Survive today so you can trade tomorrow.

-- Brian

Thanks for reading The Trade Review! The music is pumping. The champagne is flowing. Everyone around you is laughing and dancing. Your friend is shouting over the noise, bragging about how much money he made this year.

It feels like the magic will never end.

But you are different. You aren’t looking at the dancers. You are standing quietly by the door, looking at your watch.

Most people think the party goes on forever. But you know a secret. You know exactly what time the band stops playing. And you know that in five minutes, the lights go out.

This is the story of the year 2026.

You won’t read this story in the Wall Street Journal. You won’t see it on the morning news. They are too busy looking at the noise of today. But if you want to protect your family and your money, you need to look at the rhythm of history.

You are about to learn a secret roadmap. It is a map hidden in 200 years of data. It reveals a “Topping Order”—a specific list of dominoes that will fall, one by one, as we reach the peak of the mountain.

If you know the order, you can walk out of the casino with your winnings while everyone else is still betting the house.

The Hidden Heartbeat of History

First, you must unlearn what you have been told. The market does not move randomly. It breathes.

For over 200 years, the American economy has followed a specific, invisible schedule. It is called the 18 Year Real Estate Cycle.

It works like the tides in the ocean. The tide comes in, and the tide goes out.

History tells us the cycle usually moves up for 14 years. Then, it crashes for 4 years. It happened in the 1830s. It happened in the 1920s. And it is happening right now.

The last time the real estate market hit rock bottom was in 2012. That was the start of the new day.

Do the simple math. 2012 plus 14 years. That brings us to 2026.

The year 2026 is not a random date. It is the mathematical peak of a cycle that has been turning since the days of the Founding Fathers.

But here is the trick. The “Peak” isn’t the crash. The peak is the moment when the music is loudest. It is the moment of maximum greed. This phase is called the “Winner’s Curse.” It is when everyone feels invincible.

But smart investors know that the peak is a process, not a single day. The exits close in a specific order.

Here is your roadmap for the 2026 Topping Order.

1. Housing Stocks

The first domino to fall is the one most people ignore until it is too late. It is the Housing Stocks. These are the companies that build the homes you live in (like D.R. Horton or Lennar).

Why do they peak first? Because of the dirt under your feet.

The secret engine of the economy is not technology. It is Land.

When the economy is booming, land prices skyrocket. Banks love this. When land is worth more, banks feel safe lending money. They pump cash into the system. This creates the boom.

But eventually, land gets too expensive. Regular people can’t afford to buy a new home. The builders—the “smart money”—see this coming first. They realize their profit margins are about to get squeezed.

So, in the first part of the topping process, you will likely see housing stocks start to run out of gas. They might stall or drop while the rest of the market is still flying high.

This is your warning bell. It is the canary in the coal mine dying. It means the foundation of the boom—the land value—is starting to crack.

2. The General Market

This is the most dangerous phase.

After housing stocks peak, a strange thing happens. The General Market—the S&P 500, the Dow Jones, the tech stocks—keeps going up.

You will look at the struggling housing stocks and think, “Maybe housing is just having a bad month. Look at everything else! We are rich!”

History tells us that years ending in a “6” are often wild. A famous trader named W.D. Gann studied this a hundred years ago. He noticed that “Number 6” years (like 1906, 1926, 1996) are often Bull years. The market roars. It creates a sense of euphoria.

During 2026, the stock market will likely push to all-time highs. Your taxi driver will give you stock tips. Your neighbor will buy a boat. The news will tell you we have entered a “New Era” where stocks only go up.

Do not be fooled.

This is the final burst of momentum. It is the car rolling uphill after the engine has been cut. While the crowd is cheering, the smart money is quietly putting on their coats and leaving the party. These bull campaigns often end in the fall, followed by a fast decline.

3. Gold

As the General Market starts to wobble in the latter part of the cycle, the mood shifts. Greed turns to Fear.

Money is like water. It has to go somewhere. When investors get scared of paper stocks, they run to something real. They run to Gold.

Gold usually peaks after the general stock market. It is the “Safety Trap.”

When the Dow Jones starts to slip, people panic. They sell their Amazon shares and buy gold coins. They think, “At least this is safe.”

This rush of fear drives the price of gold up. You might see gold hitting record highs just as the rest of the economy feels shaky. It looks like a new boom, but it is actually the fire alarm ringing.

4. Copper

Copper is different. It isn’t money. It is stuff. It is the metal we use to build the world—pipes, wires, electronics. Wall Street calls it “Dr. Copper” because it has a PhD in economics.

Copper often peaks late because the physical world moves slower than the stock market. Even after the stock traders have sold, there are still skyscrapers being finished. There are still factories running to fill old orders.

The momentum of 14 years of building is hard to stop. So, the demand for copper stays high for a little while longer.

When you see Copper finally top out and roll over, it tells you something terrifying: The physical economy has stopped. The factories are turning off the lights. The construction cranes are coming down.

5. Silver

And finally, there is Silver.

Silver is the wild child of the family. It is the “Poor Man’s Gold.” It is a tiny market, so it moves very, very fast.

At the very end of the cycle, the speculation reaches a fever pitch. People who missed the boat on stocks, and missed the boat on gold, throw their last dollars into silver. They are desperate to catch a rising star.

Silver often goes “parabolic” at the very end. It shoots straight up like a rocket. It is the final firework display at the end of the night. It lures in the last of the gamblers right before the doors close.

When Silver peaks, the cycle is complete. The party is officially over.

What Comes Next?

So now you have the roadmap. You know the 5 dominoes. You know 2026 is the peak.

But here’s what keeps me up at night.

The cycle is 18 years. 14 years up. 4 years down. We’ve covered the climb. But those 4 years down? They’re not just “bad markets.”

They’re when fortunes are made.

After 1929, Joseph Kennedy bought up Manhattan real estate for pennies. After 2008, Blackstone scooped up 50,000 homes while families were still packing boxes. Every crash mints a new generation of millionaires—people who knew exactly where to stand when the tide went out.

There's a specific playbook for this. A small group of traders used it in 2008 to turn the worst financial disaster in 80 years into billions. They found a way to place asymmetric bets—a way to risk $1 to make $100—and they placed it before the panic started. And when the dominoes fell, they cashed the biggest checks of their lives.

But that’s a story for another day.

For now, just remember: the clock is ticking. And knowing when the music stops is only half the secret.

The other half is knowing where to sit when the chairs get pulled.

See you in the next issue.

The elegance is in the execution.

— Brian

Thanks for reading The Trade Review! Our table was dead silent.

I had just slid my laptop across the table to a friend…a smart guy, longtime trader. On the screen was my mechanical trading system. The numbers were undeniable. It went from a starting balance of $100,000 to $1.3 million in 2025.

His eyes lit up. He leaned in the way people do when they think they’re about to see the secret… complicated, mysterious key that explains it all.

“Okay, Brian,” he said. “Show me. What the hell are you doing?”

I could see the gears turning in his head. He was bracing himself for something proprietary and impossible to understand.

He expected me to show him a complex neural network or a Bloomberg terminal full of proprietary data. He expected thousands of lines of code.

He wanted the “secret” to be difficult, because that would justify why he hadn’t found it yet.

So I pulled up a chart and walked him through it. Step by step.

He stared at it for a long time. Then I watched the excitement drain from his face, replaced by genuine annoyance. He sat back and pushed the laptop away.

“Brian, come on,” he said. “I can’t use this. It’s too simple.”

I just looked at him. “What do you mean? You just saw the system. You saw the numbers.”

“Yeah,” he said. “I’ve spent thousands on courses, indicators and software. My strategy has fourteen rules and you only have a few... you’re telling me none of that matters?”

And just like that, he was done.

He turned down a 1200% gain because it felt too easy.

That interaction is exactly why I started this newsletter.

Most traders are addicted to complexity. They think that if they aren’t suffering...if they aren’t staring at twelve monitors and solving endless riddles...they don’t deserve to win.

I am here to show you that the opposite is true.

Welcome to The Trade Review. A newsletter for traders who want less screen time, less stress, and more zeros in their account.

Let’s get to work.

So, what does “getting to work” actually look like?

It doesn’t mean adding more screens or drawing more lines on a chart. It means stripping the process down to the simple steps that actually grow an account.

Most trading newsletters are full of theory. They tell you what could happen or what should have happened. They are written by analysts, not traders.

The Trade Review is different.

You are getting a front-row seat to how I trade…documented in real time. No hindsight. No theory. Just what it actually looks like to trade a system that works.

Here’s what you can expect in every issue:

The Scorecard

Transparency is the only metric that matters. Every issue you’ll see the full scorecard—what I made, what I lost, and the thinking behind it. No hiding the losses. No cherry-picking winners. Just the full picture.

Market Intel

We cut through the noise to find what’s actually moving the markets—the setups, the sectors, and the catalysts worth watching—delivered in plain English.

What I’m Watching

Hindsight is useless. You need to know what’s coming. I share the charts and opportunities on my radar before they play out. You’ll see exactly what I’m watching so you can do your own homework and be ready.

Did You See This?

Sometimes the best education comes from what you almost missed. We’ll look at interesting trades, patterns, or lessons from the week—whether mine or from the broader market.

Closing Thoughts

Trading is 20% strategy and 80% psychology. We wrap up every issue with a final thought to carry with you—whether it’s a quote, a lesson, or a reminder that the best traders play the long game.

That’s the newsletter. Now here’s my 2026 track record so far.

The Scorecard: Jan 1 – Jan 9, 2026:

<a class="image-link image2
